The next school idol generation is here: The first season of the Love Live! Sunshine!! anime has begun airing on July 2, 2016.

Ambition Teaser

New 2D animated short from Echo Bridge Pictures.

“Ambition” is an existential story about a young entrepreneur who chases his dreams.  But the closer he gets to success, the more nightmarish his life becomes.

The film is a visual poem about debt and how it feels to be trapped by it. In this surreal narrative, everything and everyone represents an aspect of desire or ambition.

Ambition is directed by Esteban Valdez ( Ulgy Americans, Skullgirls, Axe Cop) and writen by Colleen Johnson and Esteban Valdez.

Ambition will be out in Fall 2016.

Watch The First Opening From Dragon Ball Super

The first episode of Dragon Ball Super just premiered in Japan, and I’ve already seen several sites streaming it. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen one with English subs, but it will probably surface online soon. From what I’ve seen, the first episode is pretty laid-back. There’s a bit of hints that a big threat is coming, but most of it just shows us how the main characters are doing with their daily lives. Goten and Trunks get the biggest spotlight in the episode. And we find out that Goku is working as a farmer!

Anyways, we’ll keep you updated on that. A lot of Dragon Ball fans are happy to see the Akira Toriyama’s series return to TV, and I’m really hoping that it would be more enjoyable than Dragon Ball GT. For now, you can watch the first opening below:

The official website for the Persona 3 film series updated at midnight on Thursday, and unveiled the newest promotional video, story introduction, title, release date, staff, and teaser visual for Persona 3 the Movie #4 Winter of Rebirth. The last film will open in Japanese theaters on January 23, 2016.

The website lists the story:

To know death, to gaze at death, to face death.

Makoto and his allies have grown through the many meetings and partings they have experienced.

Their fight might not be for the sake of the world, but for themselves. Even so, they have continued to fight, believing that there are peaceful days waiting at the end of the battle.

However, a boy says that destruction is the fate that humanity must shoulder. The boy they believed to be their friend tells them the truth of the situation without an emotion on his face.

The season changes to winter. Makoto makes a decision in order to greet the spring that is waiting beyond….

Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno Film Trailer

Singaporean anime distribution company Odex began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for the 19th Detective Conan anime film, Detective Conan: Gōka no Himawari (Detective Conan: Sunflowers of Inferno), on Tuesday. The trailer, which first streamed in March, features rock band Porno Graffitti’s theme song “Oh! Rival.”

A New Vampire Hunter D Anime Series is Confirmed

We’ve learned that a new Vampire Hunter D animated series is in the works.

The production is being handled by California-based Unified Pictures, although we know a bunch of Japanese creators and studios are collaborating on the project. The new CG anime series will be based off the original Vampire Hunter D novels, and is set to arrive sometime in the near future.

The series creator Hideyuki Kikuchi is naturally on board with the production, alongside Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust director Yoshiaki Kawajiri, as well as Japanese animation studio Digital Frontier.

While it’s exciting to see a new breath of life in one of my most adored works of fiction, it’s worrying to know this new series will be a CG one – the fleshy, bloody, and usually gothic/dark world of Vampire Hunter D might not lend itself well to a CG-look.

What do you guys think? Are you excited to see the iconic Vampire Hunter D animated series?
