Bandai Namco has announced One Piece: Burning Blood at this year’s SCEJA press conference.

The game is in development for both PlayStation 4 and PS Vita, with Spike Chunsoft actually developing the game, and Bandai Namco publishing it.

One Piece: Burning Blood is focused on the battles in One Piece, but more specifically the Devil Fruit abilities.

E3 2015 – One Piece Pirate Warriors 3

Japanese companies are bringing games more and more to PC and One Piece Pirate Warriors 3 is going to be one of those titles.  The first game in the series was released in 2012 on the Playstation 3, and the second in 2013 also on Playstation 3, but also the Playstation Vita. While the second game got away from the traditional One Piece story, Pirate Warriors 3 has promised that it will be returning to the canonical story of the series.

Already released in Japan, the Pirate Warriors series is a Dynasty Warriors styled game developed by Koei Tecmo much like Hyrule Warriors was and that game may well owe part of its existence to the success of the Pirate Warriors line. In the games you fight waves of enemies playing as the crew of the series and utilize specials, button ashing and face various bosses… basically its Dynasty Warriors in the One Piece universe.

This time around, the game will be hitting all the greatest moments in the popular anime and manga from Luffy leaving Fushia Village, all the way up to the current story arc of Dressrosa – and for those of you who want to snark, it presumably will have less filler than the anime given the amount of content it has to cover in the game. The roster size for the game has also been increased, adding new playable characters like Sabo, Donquixote Doflamingo, and Fujitora among others. This trailer shows off some of the characters and locations in a relatively brief period.

This is the first time the series has made it to steam – and Dynasty Warriors isn’t a series that has gotten a ton of PC ports or great quality ones. Still its hopeful this one will be solid on that front for its August 25 release in the West with English subtitles but sticking with the original Japanese voice overs.
