Michael Bay approached about directing Lobo? What this says about Warner and DC

Way back on February 8th, The Hollywood Reporter first revealed that Warner and DC were in very early talks with Michael Bay about him directing a Lobo movie. There is a script, at least an early version of one, and in effort to make him sign on, they handed it off to Bay so he could give his input on its further development – so the powers that be at DC and Warner must really want him to helm this.

In this editorial, @AndreEinherjar will cover who Lobo is and why they might want to make a movie about him, the prospect of Michael Bay being the one directing it, the budget, and above all, what even wanting Michael Bay for something like Lobo implies about the powers that be at DC, and how they are running DC on film into the ground.

Suicide Squad Is Getting Reshoots To Add More Jokes

It’s common for movies, particularly blockbusters, to undergo reshoots.

Both the first Suicide Squad trailer, which debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con, as well as the succeeding trailers with the Queen song, all received positive feedback from fans. Apparently though, the first ever trailer was the one closer to the actual tone of the film.

Well now, according to Birth. Movies. Death., because of the massive positive response to the trailers with the Queen song, Warner Bros. decided to request reshoots in order to alter the tone of Suicide Squad and make it more light and humorous.

Warner Bros. requested that director David Ayer add “more humor and lightness”. A source said “every joke in the movie is in that trailer,” which means there were five jokes in the movie.

The Suicide Squad reshoots have reportedly begun already. The studio is also adding more cost to the film’s budget.

Considering the direction the film is taking, following audience response and all, the studio’s investment will likely be well worth it.

This, to me, is great news. Hearing thatWarner Bros. is aware that they need to inject some fun into these movies.
